Episode 1 hands you the deadline in its opening lines: a best friend's mom has just divorced, her son wants her moved out before he flies home on Friday, and the helper owns a van. A man takes the job, and the mother, Amanda, has her own idea of how the week should go. This Candy Shorts series turns packing into a countdown.
Boxes, a viewing and a call from Rory
Each episode runs about a minute, and I watched both signed in to a free Candy.ai account. A keepsake game, "Keep or toss?", carries from the first episode into the second and gives the boxes a double meaning.
A van, a divorce and something she wore
The helper is there because Rory, Amanda's son, asked him to get her out before Friday. Rory calls with a plea to look after her, and Amanda asks the helper to tell him she is in good hands. Her first round of keep or toss comes with a complaint: twenty years, and her husband did not look at her in it once. A woman announces a viewing in ten minutes and asks who the handsome helper is, and a second call from Rory closes the episode on "safe hands."
Tamsin cuts in on the bedroom
Episode 2 moves to Amanda's own bedroom. The house sells Friday, the helper has come back, and the game gets a one-word answer. Tamsin offers to borrow his hands once Amanda is done with him, Amanda objects, and Tamsin steps back. Amanda then says no one in twenty years has made her feel wanted until him, and she ends the episode by handing her son's request back to him: take care of me.
Innuendo between the boxes
I rate it spice level 4, Fiery, because the story is built on a seduction with a deadline. The free pair stays on innuendo and a bedroom invitation, with no nudity and no sex. Amanda, the helper and Tamsin are adults, and Amanda is just out of a long marriage. The guide to the levels explains the scale.
The names you hear in this Candy AI Shorts series are Amanda, her son Rory, who is heard on the phone, and Tamsin. The helper has no name in the captions, which fits a story told from his side.
The price of clearing the house
On Candy Shorts, the three paid episodes come to 36 tokens at 12 each. Thanksgiving With My Best Friend's Mom shares the hook of a friend's mother and the five-episode run, but it charges 30 tokens an episode, so finishing it takes 90. Here the clock is a sale that closes on Friday. What a free login opens has its own page.
My Best Friends Mom has the same friend's-mother hook, also runs five episodes and also charges 12 tokens an episode, if the Friday clock is not what you came for. More options sit in the series reviews.
Keep it or toss it
Watch it if
- A countdown, with a sale on Friday and a flight home, keeps you swiping.
- You like a host who sets the pace: Amanda steers both episodes.
- Innuendo that stays at an invitation until the paywall suits you.
Skip it if
- You want a scene on screen sooner; episodes 1 and 2 end at an invitation.
- You prefer one-on-one stories, since Tamsin cuts in during episode 2.
- A plot that leans on a friend's trust bothers you.
