Episode 1 of Mum Got Sick On Our Holiday opens on a single word, "Stepdad," and a set of doctor's orders: with your wife ill, you have to keep her daughter company all week.
A sick wife and a week to fill
In this Candy Shorts story you play the stepdad on a family vacation. Your wife has been ill since the plane landed, she says she couldn't ask for a better husband, and she wants you to keep Harriet entertained. Harriet is 23 and has a different idea of entertainment.
Harriet is the one name you hear in the free pair. Her mom, your wife, is heard checking in, and the stepdad has no name because the story is told to you.

Sunscreen and T-Rex arms
Harriet asks for sunscreen: her mom usually does her back, and she can't reach it. She jokes about T-Rex arms, then points out that he missed the front. When her mom checks in, Harriet tells her he has been "very hands-on." The stepdad's own voice notes that she is lying for him, and badly.
Next comes her pitch for a VIP Bali bed with curtains. It goes on her mom's card, and her mom did say to entertain her. Episode 1 closes on "I should say no, shouldn't I?"
Three years of watching
Episode 2 opens on a confession. Harriet says that three years ago he danced with her mom at the wedding, and she has been watching him ever since. He reminds her he's her stepdad, and her reply is that it doesn't matter.
A dare to say it out loud follows, backed by "What goes on tour, stays on tour." Then his wife checks in, asking for cookies from the shop now that she can keep something down. The last line is a countdown: "Tell her 10 minutes."
